London based South African printmaker Luzelle van der Westhuizen's work is inspired by geometric and hand drawn patterns, as well as African and Scandinavian design. Using traditional silkscreen printing methods, the result is colourful, bold and sometimes whimsical. Favourite subjects include seaside scenes, retro objects and landscapes playing with scale.
Luzelle has also done freelance design work for clients such as Marc Jacobs, and her work has been sold in stores that represent the best in contemporary design. Mengsel prints have been featured in the pages of ELLE Decoration, House & Leisure, Condé Nast House & Garden, Glamour UK, Computer Arts and Good Homes to name a few.
Mengsel means 'mixture' in Luzelle's native Afrikaans
