Maggi Wood Art Signs
HUGE thanks for stopping by!
Here you'll find a little more information on "Me & My Art & My Signs" and the journey from bare wood to a piece that is a joy to have created! I do very much hope that you enjoy your visit!
Wood , the smell, the feel, the colours, the patterns; I just love everything about it, even the splinters!
I combine my great passion for wood with 2 other great passions of mine - WORDS and ART! We all hold equally the power to change people's lives with just a few words so to be given the opportunity to combine WOOD, WORDS and ART is a Gift from Heaven ~ I am truly privileged and indeed blessed to create each and every piece!
I cut and plane each piece and the corners and edges are gently rounded or routered. Layers of paint, wax and sanding are applied over a few days and my truly beautiful letter work is always applied using professional artist quality acrylic, flow improver and good brushes!
This is a lengthy but essential process as my work is intended to LIVE for a very long time indeed! There are no mass produced stencils or cookie cutting process here - It's just me and my collection of tools, brushes, paint and PASSION!
Each piece is satin sealed for indoor or outdoor use and a hanger attached so it's all ready to hang as soon as you receive it
My pieces are intentionally shabby chic, gently distressed, vintage style - they are supposed to look as if they have been with us for some considerable time whilst maintaining a superb quality finish and design that gives my pieces the look that says they have been very much loved.
Each piece is totally unique ~ wood grain, knots, shabbiness etc will vary and will all add to each piece's gentleness and totally unique nature, whilst always maintaining a wonderful quality design.
My very favourite work is when I paint the words that are special to you, in your style, your language etc. It's such a privilege to be entrusted to share in these, and sometimes to share in the stories that inspire them - they are a joy to create!
