loosethread

Loosethread is a growing business based in South Wales with work exhibited in an ever increasing number of galleries and boutiques throughout the UK from St Ives to the Shetlands, and featured in lifestyle magasines including House Beautiful and The Sunday Express You Magasine.

From eye to fabric via fast and furious needle each textile piece is a reflection of a memory- my memories, layered with tactile fabrics, stitch, pattern and buttons.

My work comes from the things I like, the beach, the sea or a line of weathered beach huts. But, like most girls I love frilly spotted dresses, tall high heels and decadent cakes. The things we see around us trigger response, even a pretty teacup may inspire me.

With these experiences etched in my mind I love to draw, but not in the traditional way. Trained in textiles it is second nature to 'paint' the canvas with fabric and 'draw' in the detail with he sewing machine and perhaps some hand stitching and the odd button or two, always leaving my signature 'loosethreads'.
