Hello, I’m Joanne, the designer and maker behind the family friendly brand, Joanne Hawker.

I started my small creative business in 2012 after leaving my job on a pepper farm. While I occasionally miss the caterpillars, I much prefer spending my days designing and creating cheerful paper goods, personalised gifts and craft accessories from my home studio in Taunton, Somerset.

My collection focuses on personalised cards for special occasions, thoughtful gifts and practical accessories for creative people. From special occasion cards and scratch cards to cotton storage bags for unfinished craft projects, dreamy coastal landscape prints and wedding pennant flags, every item begins life as an idea in my sketchbook.

Hand lettering is at the heart of my work. Over the years I have developed several of my own hand-lettered fonts, which feature across many of my designs. These custom typefaces help give each product a distinctive style, meaning every card or gift you choose is unique to the Joanne Hawker brand.

All of my designs are illustrated and produced from my home in the Somerset countryside, where I carefully create each item to order. Being a small independent maker allows me to focus on quality, creativity and the personal details that make handmade gifts feel special.

My aim has always been to create beautifully designed personalised gifts and handmade cards that help people celebrate life’s moments. Whether it’s a birthday, wedding, new baby or simply making someone smile.

The collection is always growing, and there is always something new being designed in the studio.
