Indigoelephant is a small, creative, one-person business set-up in 2010. It is run by Julia Brooks, a painter, who splits her time making screen printed greetings cards, wrapping paper, gift tags, oil paintings, drawings and original prints. Indigoelephant's stationary designs are a creative outlet for Julia's off-beat sense of humour and are intended to be fun, contemporary, as eco-friendly as possible, original and different.
From August 2014 Indigoelephant also now stocks a really delightful selection of handmade necklaces, made by a wonderfully talented goldsmith with an eye for textures. "I really like and admire the designs and workmanship of all of these necklaces. They are truly beautiful."
"I started Indigoelephant to create a job for myself. I work part-time as a painter and wanted my other job to be a creative one, that used my skills. I wanted to work independently (have no annoying work colleagues), have a peaceful working atmosphere (no dastardly office politics) and be self-employed (have no horrible boss). When i was young my art tutor told me that I was good at graphic design and could have a career in this field. I remembered these words. I taught myself screen printing to transform my designs into professional products - and the paper items you see in my store are the results."
"Thank you to all my customers for helping me have this creative job, working for myself. I really do appreciate your custom very much."
