Incantation was born as an idea in 1999, whilst travelling round the world.
The aim was simple - our greatest passion was to bring a collection of products that in terms of design and quality were exceptional, distinctive and gave an individual character. This would enable retailers to offer their customers something unique.
In achieving this, the company would in turn be in a position to return money to the supplying artisans and communities in these beautiful faraway lands that enable us all to own and be proud of such remarkable crafts.
As our products started to catch the attention of a wider audience, we gained unprecedented levels of interest directly from the consumers. So, to meet the needs of you all, we’ve enhanced this website to give you access to both a mail order service to supply that consumer demand, whilst maintaining our contact with the retail trade.
We have always operated a policy of paying our loyal suppliers on time and payments are generally made in advance so the supplier can buy the raw materials without getting into debt, and pay their workers on time.
By placing repeat orders and by regularly refreshing products with new lines from the same supplier, we provide the stability of demand and therefore secure employment that is so important in the development of growing businesses in the Third World.
At any stage where we have met serious supply problems, we have with patience, practical advice and suggestions for improvement, enabled our suppliers to grow at the same rate as Incantation.
Through all this we have stuck enthusiastically to our company's philosophy: Incantation - Brought to you with a difference.
