Hunter Gather began its life in 2002 with Harriet Campbell making kindle cone firelighters in Dorset on the kitchen table. Nearly 15 years later we are still going strong although the kitchen table has become a bit too small for most of the production. Nowadays we have a team which includes the help of a wonderful factory that gives full time work in a safe environment to people with learning difficulties and our range has expanded to include heart shaped firelighters for Valentines Day, summer herb barbecue lighters and winter festive firelighters.
As the firelighters were initially a very seasonal product we began to source fun and unusual gifts for the home that in truth we wanted to have ourselves and we have built this range up over the years and will continue to do so.
A light bulb moment saw the invention of our BowlOvers. These were runner up in the Country Homes & Interiors small business award in 2011 and they have been featured widely in magazines here and abroad ever since including Martha Stewart in the USA which was a hugely exciting moment. We are now able to offer these on a personalised basis so you can cover your left over food with any special message.
We also really hope we offer great customer service – we always welcome your feedback as it really helps us to improve what we have on offer.
Have fun shopping!
