Made in Britain
An original 1950s vintage teatowel with Parisian Metro Map print and charming illustrations of city landmarks upcycled into a beautiful French Mid Century cushion.
This is a large bench cushion made with a vintage Mid Century (1950s) printed French tea towel with a beautiful map of the Parisian Metro system. We can date this textile to the late 1950s by researching what's included on the map: Ligne 13 extended northwards in 1952 but other changes that occured later are not present. This would be a wonderful gift for fans of Parisian Chic, lovers of maps and graphic or Mid Century design or a great memento of a trip to the romantic capital of the world, maybe even a wedding gift for those who will honeymoon there!
Only one made - a truly unique cushion.
Vintage cotton 1950s tea towel front, lovely soft brown/green tweed wool reverse. Fastens with a French metal button in the style of a Napoleonic coin, minted in 1855, the year that the Parisian tramways opened (precursors to the modern Metro). Filled with a luxury British-made feather and down pad.
We carefully clean all vintage textiles before upcycling them. You can remove the cover for cleaning easily. Dry cleaning recommended.
