Made in Britain
can be personalised
This gap year journal has an eyecatching real, stamped envelope cover and a variety of themed pages that will suit different days adventures.
This personalised travel journal will stand out from the crowd on any journey. It gives your young traveller as much freedom to record their experiences as they will enjoy on their first adventure.
As the journal is put together by the recipient the pages can be kept in the box, chosen to suit and bound at a later date, truly stamping it with creative individuality.
The graphic, unfussy cover and colours, makes this journal particularly suitable for a male traveller (of any age). It would also work as an every day diary, quickly becoming a favourite place to write memories.
There are two colour choices for the gap year kit, a white envelope cover with predominately blue, red and white pages or a brown envelope cover with cream, red and brown pages. Some of the pages are squared or lined, suitable for writing and drawing on, then some are decorative and can be backdrops for photos or collages. There are additional folders that can be bound into the book made from recycled envelopes that will hold tickets and ephemera collected along the way.
The name label can be personalised for you with up to thirty letters, using a vintage typewriter, or it can remain blank.
This is what is in the box: One front cover, one back cover, twelve postal themed pages and twenty six co-ordinated coloured or graphic pages (two of each type), one postcard, two envelope folders, a self adhesive name label, two edge reinforcement strips, two lengths of linen thread, a wire alignment strip, two pegs and a sheet of instructions. There really are no extra’s needed to make the journal.
A selection of collage papers can be added to the kit for extra visual impact. There are three choices: coast, nature and travel. There are around twenty five papers of varying sizes but all smaller than the book, ten are pictures, ten are decorative paper and five are stamped images. The papers come in a reused envelope within the box.
The book materials are paper and card. Many of the pages are re-used (parcel paper and envelopes) or recycled (made from paper that has been collected and reprocessed).
The pages are collected, chosen, cut and punched by hand. As they are reused some of the pages are crumpled, have torn edges or have been previously written on, this is a deliberate feature of the design and helps to give the book its character.
The box is decorated and there receipt is seperate so it can be given as a gift without further wrapping required.
The book is A5 size, 21x15cm. The box fits through a normal letter box aperture, H2 x W24 x D16cm.
