Made in Britain
can be personalised
A unique gap year journal made for your particular adventure using inspiring papers that you can fill before you bind to give you more freedom.
Choose this personalised travel journal to stand out from the crowd on your journey. As well as learning a new skill, hand binding your own book will make it more appealing to use as the gorgeous variety of themed pages can be put into any order you wish, truly stamping it with your individuality.
You can feel good that lots of the pages are recycled and reused, but this also gives the book an instant comfortable patina that will help it to become a much loved place to write or stick things that are important to you.
There are two colour choices for the gap year kit, a white envelope cover with predominately blue, red and white pages or a brown envelope with cream, red and brown pages. There are additional folders that can be bound into the book made from recycled envelopes that will hold tickets or photos that you collect along the way.
You can choose to personalise the name label with up to thirty letters, which will be laid out using a vintage typewriter, or you can leave it blank to write yourself.
This is what is in the box: twelve postal themed pages and twenty six co-ordinated coloured or graphic pages (two of each type), one postcard, two envelope folders, one front cover, one back cover, a self adhesive name label, two edge reinforcement strips, two lengths of linen thread, a wire alignment strip, two pegs and a sheet of instructions. There really are no extra’s needed to make the book.
You can add a selection of collage papers to your book kit. There are three choices: nature, coastal and travel. There are around twenty five papers of varying sizes but all smaller than the book, ten are pictures relevant to the selection, ten are decorative paper and five are stamped images. The papers will help you to create a lovely visual diary of a holiday or enhance your journal. The papers come in a reused envelope within the book box.
The book materials are paper and card. Many of the pages are re-used (parcel paper and envelopes) or recycled (made from paper that has been collected and reprocessed).
The pages are collected, chosen, cut and punched by hand. As they are reused some of the pages are crumpled, have torn edges or have been previously written on, this is a deliberate feature of the design and helps to give the book its character.
The book is A5 size, 21x15cm. The box the book kit comes in fits through a letterbox aperture, H2 x W24 x D16cm.
