These stylish Jade Cufflinks are created from Nephrite jade or Stone of Heaven, revered by the Chinese for more than 5,000 years. Nephrite is prized for its special qualities — its extreme toughness (the toughest of any natural stone), its alluring translucency and its smooth polished feel. The stone was created between 50 and 185 million years ago, when two massive tectonic plates smashed together and buckled upward to create the Cordilleran mountain region that stretches from the Yukon to Mexico.
Luxuriant jade has always been afforded a reputation for desirability and opulence within spheres of jewellery-making stretching back thousands of years.
