Hand made by Samantha Stas

I have had a passion for textiles and colour for as long as I can remember. One of my earliest memories is sitting beside my mother as she peddled her sewing machine whilst I made my first dollies dress. I was sure the buttons would fall off, so reinforced them with Sellotape! I have been working with textiles for over 10 years, and am inspired by the post-war 'make do and mend' philosophy, old children's book illustrations and all things nostalgic. I love recycling; jumpers into tea cosies, perhaps, or an old frock into a bag lining. Everthing I make is completly handmade, each piece being unique. Ideal as either a present for a loved one or a gift to oneself that can be cherished and passed on. My designs are sure to be enjoyed by anyone with a love for all things quirky, colourful and fun. People tell me that my work makes them smile - I hope it does for you, too.
