Made in Britain
Attention all shipping! Flowers And Fleurons are the original designers of the Shipping Forecast letterpress print, hand-printed using vintage wood and metal type.
The Shipping Forecast names the British sea areas covered by daily BBC radio weather broadcasts on behalf of the Meteorological Office: Viking, North Utsire, South Utsire, Forties, Cromarty, Forth.
This is the popular mini version in the Shipping Forecast series. It has been hand-printed one at a time using vintage metal letterpress type to create an original print with a superb vintage feel.
We now sell them at the National Maritime Museum and the original monumental version now hangs in Rick Stein and Jill Stein's Seafood Restaurant in Padstow.

The Finisterre variation uses the old sea region name Finisterre instead of Fitzroy and is printed in greys, black and stone.
The Shipping Forecast is printed onto 100% cotton Somerset Velvet paper made in the UK with richly pigmented print-making inks
The print comes in both framed and unframed versions. Our frames are made by a local picture framing company who offer conscientious attention to detail to this bespoke size. Recently we have started framing the Shipping Forecast print in solid Ash wood with a limed wax finish to give a lovely driftwood feel (frame width 1 inch/ 2.54cm). The glazing is acrylic and the mount and backing-board are acid-free conservation grade to ensure the cotton paper we print on does not age.
Please note that since the original photograph was taken we have sold out and have reprinted making very slight alterations to some of the names – for example South East Iceland is now larger and reads S.E Iceland.
Print Dimensions: 51 x 13cm unframed.
