My printed textiles are characterised by their kaleidoscope of colour and striking graphic imagery that is extracted directly from photographs that I take myelf.
This print features photographs of a moss covered tree bark that gives the scarf a multitude of lush green and brown colours and the red spot is a vintage belt buckle.
Designed and made in England.
Emma Burton’s printed textile fashion and interior accessories are characterised by their kaleidoscope of colour and striking graphic imagery that is extracted directly from photographs that Emma takes herself. She is inspired by everything from retro plastic paraphanaleia to nature and explores patterns, textures and colour within and around these themes.
Each product features a unique print that she creates by layering dissected imagery from her photographs. The prints are digitally printed onto natural fabrics such as silk and wool and and made into her collection of scarves, bags, purses and cushions.
Emma Burton’s Spring/Summer 2010 collection was launched alongside prestigious fashion designers such as Givenchy, Marc Jacobs and Viktor and Rolf in one of Italy’s most influential fashion stores, Luisa Via Roma, Italy.
