Leather: Leather is a natural product. It's ideal therefore for dogs with sensitive skin or coats prone to matting. Leather can be cleaned with saddle soap or warm and mild soapy water. If the product gets wet however, you should allow to air-dry completely before re-use and treated with a quality leather restorative, eg: Neatsfoot Oil or Beeswax. We suggest oiling or waxing your product immediately after purchase as a pre-emptive measure. IMPORTANT: the chemicals in some ‘spot-on’ flea treatments might damage the product. Apply flea treatments between the shoulders and not at the neck. If any part of the coat is still 'wet' with the chemicals, do not allow the leather to come into contact.
Metal Fittings: All load-bearing fittings are solid brass or nickel-plated solid brass (silver). To maintain or restore, apply Brasso or a similar metal cleaner. Trigger-hooks might also benefit from a light application of oil to the spring mechanism. Keep all chemicals (and fumes) away from your dog.
