Mark the occasion of a special birth or christening with a timeless solid oak freestanding clock, engraved with your special message.
These clocks make wonderful and long-lasting reminders of important dates, places, people or events, and you can have plenty of text engraved to make sure your piece is just right for you.
The engraving burns a rich dark brown tint into the wood, and recesses the letters slightly, giving a nice 3D effect. The exact tone of wood and engraving will vary according the piece of wood, so no two will ever be the same.
The clocks are made with a deeply milled circular face, and the hour marks are cut right through the wood for an unusual effect.
We offer this clock in two styles: round top or square top - please select your preference in the options.
We have tried to offer very flexible engraving options - plenty of fonts as shown in the pictures and the layouts we offer are either 'block justified' or 'fixed font size' (with or without one line in larger, bold type). Each layout is done by hand, and each is different, so we can't show in our pictures exactly how yours will look! But you can be sure we will arrange the text to give a beautiful result. IMPORTANT - we will engrave exactly what you give us, so please double check your spellings, spaces and punctation!
BLOCK JUSTIFIED means the font size on each line is adjusted so that the overall engraving lines up as a square-ish block of text - longer lines will be in smaller font size, short lines will be in larger font size. See the 'Daddy Time' picture, which is 'block justified'.
FIXED FONT SIZE means all the text is in the same size font, on every line. This means longer lines of text will appear longer on the clock. See the 'Robert & Louise' picture, which is 'fixed font size'.
FIXED FONT SIZE WITH ONE BOLD LINE is the same as above but you can select one of your lines to be engraved larger and bolder - see the 'Simonsfield' and 'Amy Kate Barber' pictures.
Solid kiln-dried oak, finished with danish oil which gives a rich colour and some protection against stains.
Please note - the hands are exposed and are quite delicate, so should not be touched as they can bend. The clock mechanism uses a single AA battery, which is supplied, and the time can easily be adjusted using the small knurled wheel on the back of the mechanism.
The clocks are approx 29 cm tall, 20cm wide and 4 cm thick.
