The story of these washing up bowls started when designer Ole Jensen was doing the dishes in kitchen sink. He hesitated when piling his fragile china and fine glasses into the sink bowl and wondered about a better, gentler solution ... so the idea of a flexible washing up bowl was born.
Clever clever clever. A once dreary kitchen utensil has become a design classic - winning the “DesignPlus” Award, an international distinction that since has been followed by the acknowledged dictionary of design Phaidon Design Classics.
So stylish, these bowls can also be used for storage, in the bathroom, for playtime, even for fruit or flowers or as a wine cooler filled with ice (like at MOMA in New York). And a chain of rather cool boutique hotels is using them as foot baths.
Colours are black, purple, pink and blue. Made from rubber, measures 30 x 30 x 16cm.
