Candy Mill
Candy Mill is a Scottish based company speicalising in deisgning Native American themed Tipis which come in three designs: Chief Crazy Horse Tipi, for a crazy little Chief, The Pow Wow Tipi, for the most precocious of squaws and The Lakota Tipi, ideal for all the little tribe. With co-ordinating play mats they are perfect to take to the beach, use in the garden or even for rainy days playing in the kitchen. Each tipi is made from 17m of durable 100% cotton canvas with 100% cotton lining. These children’s tipis are beautifully crafted, stitched with Native American appliqué designs and come in their own canvas bags with four aluminium poles and tent pegs so that they can be used inside and outside. They are easy to assemble, lightweight, measuring 6ft in height and provide about 16 sq ft of interior space when fully opened. Suitable for children 0-10 years of age.
Tamara Whitson and Clemtine Sheffield, university friends, are the co-founders of Candy Mill which was set up in 2006.“When you are at the mercy of the great British weather and as a mother of two, I was endlessly assembling tents and playhouses for my children, dragging them in and out of the garden which I found incredibly time consuming. We wanted to design the perfect indoor/outdoor hideaway that required no dismantling but that did not clutter the house. Using the basic design of the wigwam we designed these enchanting tipis that are not only great for make-believe and endless entertainment for the kids, but extremely practical for parents too.”
