By Clare plates is the creation of myself... Clare (without an i) a tall, slightly ginger, creative based in Nottingham.

I started painting decorative plates for fun back in 2015 & it gradually & quite accidentally grew into what you see before you today.

I love to create one of a kind fun, joyful and often...cheeky decorative plates to display in the home using repurposed vintage plates & saucers.

Each piece is wonderfully unique, they’re hand painted, not printed which means no two are ever the same. Every plate is vintage and sourced from near and far by myself.

How it's made

Every plate is vintage and sourced from near and far by myself. As with all vintage items there may be some small imperfections which make up part of the items.

I use special ceramic paints which are fired in the oven & then finished with a clear gloss varnish to seal the designs - these are not intended for food use & are designed to hang in homes as wall decor.
