Inspirational quotes from Oscar Wilde printed onto a page from an upcycled copy of his 'Complete Plays'.
The theatrical literature lover in you life will love Oscar's wit and wisdom printed using Bookishly's exclusive hand drawn font onto an original book page. I re-use old copies of Oscar Wilde's "Complete Plays" to create these pieces, so you'll get a unique page each time.
The page is taken from an old b-format paperback so the piece measures approximately 14cm x 20cm (about 5.5 inches x 8 inches).
The page is framed using eco-friendly wood and comes gift wrapped in a beautiful old road map.
Choose from six quotations:
"we are all in the gutter, but some of us are looking at the stars"
"to love oneself is the beginning of a life-long romance"
"life is much to important a thing to ever talk seriously about it"
"If one cannot enjoy reading a book over again, there is no use in reading at all."
“To live is the rarest thing in the world. Most people exist, that is all.”
"With freedom, books, flowers, and the moon, who could not be happy?"
The chunky black block frames are handmade in Northamptonshire by a local family business. There is no glass in these lightweight frames, so you can feel the lovely old page. I search old book shops and charity shops for pre-loved books to use in my art. The frames look great on bookshelves as they stand on their own, or can be hung flush to the wall.
14cm x 20cm (approx 5.5 inches x 8 inches)
There is approx 0.3cm of black frame showing around the page, and the frame is 3cm deep.
