On the great bus ride of life what were your favourite stops? This stunning and unique canvas will remind you of all the wonderful moments.
**LAST ORDERS FOR CHRISTMAS** 2nd December
The smaller canvas has a maximum of 12 destinations. Only the first 12 added to the form opposite will be included if you purchase the smaller option.'
These fabulous bespoke reproduction bus blinds are totally unique to you. Tell the story of your life through your own destinations. List your names, favourite holidays, places with special meanings, children's names, private jokes, where you fell in love, where you have lived, anything is possible. A fantastic piece of statement art and a real conversation starter.
An amazing and unique gift for the well travelled, parents, grandparents and big wedding anniversaries.
As a rough guide the small canvas looks best with an average of 9 destinations, the large canvas looks fabulous with 16 destinations, but you can do as few as 6 or as many as 20! It's all up to you and how you want your bus blind to look. If you have specific requirements, just ask and we'll be happy to oblige. Please be aware that particularly long lines will either need to be split into two or abbreviated in some way. Very short lines will look equally odd so we may suggest you insert the word VIA or add a suffix.
A quick history lesson!
AEC Limited, the company that made the iconic Routemaster buses, was born in Walthamstow - just like me! Before WWI, Frank Pick, the Chairman of London Underground, commissioned Edward Johnston to create a typeface that could be legibly read by all at some distance, to be used on the front of trains and throughout the underground. When London Transport was created, merging all buses, tubes and trains the Johnston font became synonymous with London.
So the original British designers of the bus blind were Pick and Johnston, nearly a century ago! The first folk to bring us personalised bus blinds were the utterly fabulous Print Dolls in Australia and we are proud (actually pleased as punch) to be the only ones to have their blessing to offer the same here in the UK. We hold true to their high standards.
These custom digital prints are printed on heavy weight superior canvas and then stretched and mounted on to a hard board base and solid wooden frame rather than flimsy stretcher bars. This will protect your canvas from sagging over the years as well as any probing fingers! The print is then treated with fine art varnish to preserve the deep matt black colour. The reverse side is hand finished with framing tape and strung for hanging.
Please note that this item is handmade and hand-finished. Great care is given to each stage and there may occasionally be variations in the blacks or other makers marks. The canvas is a pure, natural cotton canvas and there may be imperfections in the material, this is inevitable. Please try not to hang this canvas in direct sunlight as it will impact on the longevity of the deep colours. The background colour is deep matt black and the text colour is just off white to add to the authentic look and feel.
You'll get the chance to approve your canvas at the proofing stage. We normally email the proof within 3-5 days of accepting your order, so please keep a look out for it.
Dimensions are approximate as each one varies, but for a guide the measurements are: 80x150cm for the larger size and 70x100cm for the smaller size.

This product is dispatched to you by Betsy Benn.
This item is made to order and can take up to six weeks to be made and delivered.
This is a very large item which will be delivered by courier and needs to be signed for on delivery. For your convenience you may want to leave instructions of a trusted neighbour who will sign for the item for you if you have to go out. And we strongly recommend that you get this item delivered direct to it's final destination. The larger canvas is HUGE and will not fit into anything smaller than a medium sized van!
We use national courier firm UK Mail to deliver our canvases on a next day service. We will be able to advise a day of delivery but not a time slot so it may be necessary to wait in for your delivery. If you are out when they call and they leave a card to rearrange delivery, please call them promptly or your canvas might be returned to us. If that happens, we will happily arrange redelivery, but will have to pass on those charges. We send our canvases in sturdy shipping crates which we will need back and normally book a courier to collect the empty box for the day after your canvas is delivered. Please bear this in mind when deciding what day to have your canvas delivered.
