This handmade piece has multiple paper cut letters, created from a vintage london map, stitched into books and mounted onto the map background. A heart-shape stitched book replaces the second letter O. The map backround runs up the sides of the shadow box frame enhancing the three dimensional quality. The letters create a different visual impact when the piece is viewed from alternate angles.
A personalised piece can be created with a City or Country of choice making a wonderful gift or special artwork for your home.
This artwork is part of a wider series based on maps, charts, books and music, inspired by my fascination with museum collections.
