Round Etched Cufflinks

The cufflinks are made from sterling silver. They are hallmarked with 925 and an anchor stamp, which shows they have been certified as sterling silver from the Birmingham Assay Office. They are also stamped with my makers mark AKB.

The silver has a brushed whitened finish, this can be cleaned with water and a toothbrush, or a slight abrasive if dirty (like toothpaste or pumice power, or a mild sand paper), ensure surface are thoroughly ceaned and dried.

Acid etching is a process whereby a design is painted onto the silver using a 'stop-out'. The silver is then submerged into acid which eats around the stop-out, causing layers to develop on the surface. This process is repeated until several different layers form on the surface of the silver. The nature of this process means that no two pieces will ever come out exactly the same.
