My name is Amber Marie, and as a designer-maker based in Blackpool, Lancashire, I create cards, jewellery, and botanical art that act as a vibrant blossom in spring - gentle, beautiful reminders to stop, breathe, and absorb the healing gift of nature. My journey began in London and was shaped by the bohemian energy of Bristol, where I spent my youth as a "wildflower"- dancing at festivals in open fields and resisting a world of conformity. This free spirit led me to the high-paced textile studios of London and New York, where flowers were treated as commercial patterns. But life eventually taught me they symbolise so much more.
During my "greyest days," when the world felt like a shattered vase, nature became my lifeline. I discovered that the simple act of placing a single stem on a table was a radical act of self-kindness -a soft rebellion against the rush of modern life.These moments of stillness are what I now press into my work.
Inspired by the playful motifs of Mary Quant and Orla Kiely, and the peaceful defiance of Banksy’s Flower Thrower, I forage for botanical treasures wherever nature takes me -from sun-dappled parks to the coastal air of Blackpool. I hand-press and arrange every flower from my home, ensuring each bloom appears to "dance" on the page, preserving a fleeting memory in every pendant, card, and print. My work intends to be not only a piece of jewellery, but a story that links my passions into one piece of art. When you discover my work, you are welcoming a story of resilience into your home.
