We create clothes that kids can make!

We are a small (well, one-woman to be exact) Edinburgh based knitwear business who want to change the way we dress kids. As a mother, the founder Maija, noticed a lack of craft kits that were a. made with environmentally friendly materials and b. that offered a project that would become a complete garment.

As clothing is one of the most powerful tools for expression, why couldn't kids be more involved in the process of making and designing their own clothing, was our burning question. Almaborealis was born as an experimental kidswear lab, and our product range Puzzleware is just that. Experimental to the core.

We offer clothing kits that are guided where children can create a garment according to a manual, step by step. We also offer a range of 'free play' kits, where children can create whatever with the fabric components included in the kit. We use only biodegradable materials throughout our products and everything is made in Scotland and sourced from the UK.
