Pretty blue and white earrings made out of pottery shards that were found on the banks of the Thames in London.
These are one of a kind - each piece of pottery is set in a custom made fine silver bezel, all other metal is sterling silver, including the hand made ear wires.
Nice medium length dangles that are light and comfortable to wear - perfect every day earrings!
There will only ever be one pair of earrings exactly like these, and you or your loved one will be wearing a little piece of history!
The pottery shards in these earrings were found while 'mudlarking' on the banks of the Thames in London. Each piece of pottery is unique, with a story to tell.
Many of the pieces have been rolling around the river bed for at least 100-200 years. Some are even older. I will give the approximate date where possible.
I select the shards carefully, but please note that because of their age, some of the pieces have surface imperfections. I believe this is part of their charm!
All the metalwork is fine (pure) and sterling silver.
The dots measure approximately 8 mm in diameter, the hoops 1.5 cm.
Drop with ear wire: approx. 5 cm
Drop without ear wire: approx. 5/8 inch (1.5cm)
