I am an Oxford based Screen Print Artist, originally from Dublin, Ireland. I have a degree in product design, and have worked as a product designer, an interior designer for IKEA, and have also taught art and graphics at secondary level.
Since late 2012 I have focused solely on my art career. I produce limited edition screen prints of objects found around us. The prints are on card or paper, typically with four colours and often featuring metallic tones. I work from photographs, creating magnificent original pieces of art.
My limited edition prints are produced in very low numbers adding to their exclusivity.
Screen printing is a method in which ink is applied directly to the surface to be printed, usually paper. The image to be printed is photographically transferred to a very fine fabric (the screen) such that the non-printing areas are blocked off and the fabric serves as a stencil. Ink is then wiped across the screen to pass through the unblocked pores and reach the paper. For each colour to be printed a separate screen is prepared and the process is repeated.
