In our fully equipped workshop, we design and make a range of contemporary furniture. Our unique collection of pieces are designed to compliment one another and when brought together, 'joined & combined', they create a beautiful, cohesive range that is perfect for any setting.

Style, colour and texture are the key elements which form our signature style, all of which encapsulate a fresh, modern look with a timeless feel. We are careful to create pieces which maintain character and our skilled team has worked tirelessly to evolve methods and techniques to attain this original look.

OLLU is a brand with a conscience and we carefully consider our environment. Where possible, we buy our materials locally and our team is inherently resourceful, even our off-cuts of wood fuel the wood burner through the winter!

Delivery

Wide Plank Benches are classed as 'Medium' items - available for delivery to Mainland UK £40

Our 'House Bench' comes ready assembled, it is classed as a 'Medium / Large' item - available for delivery to Mainland UK £ 55

Dining Tables are classed as 'Large' items - available for delivery to Mainland UK £80

Delivery - Our furniture deliveries are carried out by a reputable courier company, we offer deliveries Monday to Friday (8-6pm). The delivery driver will endeavour to arrive with you within the stated time, although we have no control over traffic delays or unexpected events.

Deliveries are carried out by a 1 man delivery service. This means that for bulky or heavy furniture, the recipient will need to organise assistance at the point of delivery.

Once a delivery date has been scheduled, it is the customer’s responsibility to ensure they are available on the stated date (with assistance where required – see above). If the customer is unable to accept delivery on the first scheduled delivery attempt, a return charge and further delivery charge at the same rate, will be applied. Once payment for these charges have been made, a further delivery date can be scheduled. It is the customer’s responsibility to ensure the delivery address given is accurate. If the order is sent to an incorrect address, given by the customer, the customer will be charged for the return and re-delivery of the order at the same rate.

It is the customer’s responsibility to measure all access points and final resting space of the piece(s) of furniture inclusive of exterior considerations such as property location / gates/ pathways to the property. The delivery driver is able to delivery via the usual access points of kerbside / front door i.e. they will NOT deliver up flights of stairs / through windows or rooftops etc. If any unusual access is required, the customer must provide their own assistance and the delivery driver will then deliver to kerbside only. Any access information should be advised at the time of purchase. The delivery will not be carried out and a re-delivery charge will apply if the driver arrives at a destination with a flight of stairs or awkward access and the recipient has not made arrangements to assist the driver.

It is illegal for drivers to stop on a red-route, so customer must ensure that the recipient has made alternative arrangements.

Instances of damage in transit are very rare and we do all we can to ensure your item reaches you in perfect condition, however please ensure you familiarise yourself with the terms and conditions detailed below regarding your acceptance of goods delivered -

Our nominated courier insures against damage caused during transit and it is our policy to do our best to replace damaged items within 30 working days (as each piece is individually made, a set of table legs is made with and specifically fits the table base - this is our standard made-to-order lead time). All possible steps have been taken to ensure your item is securely packed and dispatched with a reliable courier company, however on very rare occasions damage may be caused during transit.

In order to ensure we can claim on behalf of our customer, for any damage caused during transit, we ask that following advice is adhered to: .

• At the point of delivery, please ensure you open the outer packaging and inspect your item(s) for any damage. Any items which are received with damage to the outer packaging (no matter how small the damage) please sign for as ‘Damaged’, with a brief detail of what the damage is, i.e. dent to left side of box, tear to outer packaging, etc. In cases where you are unable to inspect the goods, please mark the courier’s delivery paperwork as ‘unchecked’ or in instances where the courier does not allow inspection, please mark the sheet as 'Courier refused inspection of goods'.

• Once you are satisfied that your item(s) is in good condition, please sign the driver’s paperwork where necessary. Please note that upon signing the paperwork, the courier company can no longer be held responsible for any damage which may have been caused to the item(s). Claims for damaged items can only be processed if the delivery paperwork has been signed for as ‘Damaged’ – (see paragraph above).

• At the point of delivery, if you find your item has been damaged in transit, please do not accept the delivery and request that the courier returns the item to OLLU. Please ensure that the item has been securely re-packaged. Please inform OLLU within 24 hours if you have refused a delivery and give details of the type of damage.

About our wood:

Wood is a natural, living material with various(im)perfections such as knots, grain patterns, uneven planks, natural cracks and splits and other markings which add uniqueness to every piece.

Within each piece of our handmade furniture, you can expect these variances to be visible. We do not try to hide any of these aspects as these are the parts which give character and make each piece unique - mark our words – the pieces would be a lot more lifeless without them!

The planks which form the table tops are glued and jointed together in a way which will allow them to move as they contract and expand according to the temperature and humidity of the surrounding environment.

As pine is a softwood it is also prone to some shrinkage, to help limit this, please avoid exposing your furniture to excessive heat e.g. by placing it in front of a radiator or fire. A minimum 1m clearance from heat sources is recommended.

Caring for your furniture:

Our Plank Dining table and Bench tops are finished with several layers of water-based varnish. We use varnish as it looks great, is easy to maintain and provides a durable protection for the wood.

For day-to-day cleaning, a soft, dry microfiber cloth will collect any dust; a soft brush may also be used to remove dust from the wood grain, cracks or crevices.

Take care to clean away liquid spills as soon as possible with a damp cloth (water only). Treat tough spots with a tiny amount of diluted washing-up liquid on a damp cloth. Follow up by rubbing with a dry cloth immediately to maintain a shine.

Never use water, alcohol or acid-based cleaners on varnished wood, as these may damage the finish. Avoid over-wetting and never leave a damp cloth sitting on the varnished surface.

Do not place hot or wet items such as pans, plates and mugs etc directly onto the surface, we recommend the use of placemats or coasters to avoid unwanted stains and marks.

The table and bench bases are painted with a tough wearing polyurethane paint which can be wiped clean with a damp cloth (water only), treat tough spots with a tiny amount of diluted washing-up liquid on a damp cloth.

Product description:

Every effort is made to ensure that the items we make correspond as closely as possible to the images, but due to the handmade nature of our products there might be slight variations. No responsibility can be accepted for these variations. These could include, but are not limited to, differences in markings/ textures in the wood, unevenness of individual planks, differences in colour or dimensions of products (within 3cm of those stated). If the size is critical, please advise at the time of sale.

Returns:

We cannot accept returns of any piece for any of the reasons mentioned above. If in the rare event an item arrives faulty or damaged, we will arrange to collect the damaged item and organise a replacement. We reserve the right to offer a replacement in lieu of a refund.

Made to Order items may be cancelled with 7 days of the order date. Refunds will only be made if you advise within 7 days as after this time the item will go into production and the order will be final with no refunds available.
