Designs to Celebrate Love, Life and Connection.
Creativity has been a big part of my life since I could first pick up a crayon. My mum was a knitter, seamstress, interior design enthusiast, and baker so creativity was greatly encouraged in our house. But when leaving school in the late eighties the school careers advisor convinced me to take up a business studies course.
Despite art and crafts being my top subject the advice was that if I wanted a creative career I would need to move to London. For me at 16 years old that was a bit too scary.
Although it seemed the creativity wasn't going away and after a few years working in administration I decided to attend Bournville College and Birmingham City University as a mature student, twelve years after leaving School, where I learned it wasn't essential to live in London for creativity to thrive.
Enjoying everything from drawing, painting, ceramics and sewing, it was Jewellery that became my specialism and I have enjoyed making wonderful personalised pieces for a number of years.
But during the 2020 lockdown I've been drawing and painting more and have developed a new prints collection which has been really influenced by this time.
It's the beauty of life's everyday moments and pleasures that really inspire me to design and create. I find so much enjoyment in nature and the natural world. I love spending time outdoors, and our beautiful dog really gets us out enjoying life, I love yoga and it's teachings, and find happiness in loved ones and simple pleasures like cooking or having a cuppa with someone you love. I also love thoughtful and personal interiors which can reflect your personality and passions. So I'm constantly inspired to create.
