This limited edition art print features a very busy and fastidious Dachshund on a roof, sweeping the stars to make the place look tidier.
My best friend when I was growing up was my Dachshund, Oulap. Oulap means 'old rag' - a name which he earned due to his floppy ears. Oulap was very tidy and a very busy little dog, and with such short legs you have to put in a lot more work to get everything done that has to be done.
Myself and my Dad spent many evenings looking at the night sky when I was growing up, and the shimmering milky way was my favourite, after the moon (if you look at my accompanying piece 'Bunny in the moon', you'll see why).
In this print, which is based on my original painting of acrylic on canvas, my dog is busily sweeping the stars into the magical milky way, because his main job was to keep his little human happy. Which he did without fail.
