Made from
14 kt rolled gold or gold filled is an actual layer of 14 kt gold pressure-bonded ('rolled') to the core metal. Rolled Gold is different from gold plating or vermeil as rolled gold literally has 100% more gold than gold plating. Rolled gold is more valuable and tarnish resistant and if well cared for can last for years.
Cleaning your Jewellery:
Sterling Silver:
It is natural for some tarnishing of sterling silver over time due to exposure to the elements. Use a silver polishing cloth to remove light tarnish.For heavier tarnish clean your jewellery with 2 tablespoons of baking soda in hot water. Leave to soak until the piece is bright and shiny. Rinse in cold water and buff with a very soft, cotton cloth.
Gold Filled: Although Gold Filled jewellry should not get too tarnished, but it will get dirty. The oils from your skin transfer to the metal and need to be washed off from time to time. The easiest way to care for it is to scrub it with an old soft toothbrush and a mild dish washing liquid. Rinse it well and lay on a towel to dry. Be sure it is completely dry before storing.
