I create unusual, contemporary and beautiful artworks using vintage ephemera.
I've always made things, painted things, designed things.
The highlights of my week as a child were Blue Peter and Take Hart, and I had a bedroom full of cardboard boxes, full of collected bits of pretty paper, feathers, buttons, art materials and stuff... lots of stuff!
I paint full-time, and have done for many years, mainly in mixed media as my love of collecting things hasn't abated and my garden shed come studio is full of art materials, books, maps, music, scraps of fabric and stuff... lots of stuff!
My subject matter changes constantly depending on whether I am working on commissions, a gallery show or just experimenting and learning new techniques.
I have the best job in the world!
Portraits From The Precipice Finalist
In early 2020, pre lockdown, I was thrilled to have my artwork, Swimming Against The Tide, selected as a finalist in Octopus Energy's Climate Art Prize. As one of 13 finalists I was honoured to have my painting exhibited in London's Royal Academy.
As this is a cause close to my heart it was a very special event.
