Kilims are traditional tribal flat weave rugs, sometimes known as kelims. They are hand woven on a flat loom with great skill and patience. Each of our kilim rugs are a masterpiece of craftmanship. This Kilim is handmade by rural communities in Rajasthan, India on a fair trade basis. In most cases the traditional weaving skills, passed down through the generations, are used to supplement agricultural income as the work attracts good rates of pay. Workers can weave in their own home on looms provided by the exporter although some production takes place in village workshops.
