Solitary bees are vital pollinators, responsible for over a third of food we eat. As a species they face massive decline due to more intensive farming methods, disease and loss of habitat. The bee brick is a nesting site which looks stunning in the garden as a standalone unit or can also be built into walls to create more habitat.
Variations
The bee brick is available in a natural white/grey concrete and you can also find an exclusive version for Not on the High Street which is blue.

Bee bricks are made from cast concrete, incorporating Cornish granite aggregate and lime pigments.
Because Green&Blue bee hotels are made from concrete you don't need to bring them in over the winter like you do with wooden and bamboo hotels. They are hardy and will withstand all seasons. We recommend you clean the cavities once a year when you are certain that they are empty. Full instructions on where to put your bee brick and how to care for it are included within the packaging and literature.
Solitary bees don't produce honey, don't live in hives and have no queen to protect. This means they are non-aggressive and therefore safe to encourage around children and pets. The bee brick will appeal to red mason bees, leafcutter and wool carder bees.
