THE sky as a gift for any anniversary - the sky as it was the night you fell in love, the day you got or will get married, or the moment your child was born...

As an R&D engineer specialising in printing I always had a passion for Astronomy, and a humbling amazement at the vastness of the night sky. I wanted to use the great photo printers that I was helping design, to create something truly meaningful: a large, high-quality map, with the Moon, thousands of stars, the planets and the Sun. I dreamed of combining all these ingredients to capture something really special.

It was a long and sometimes difficult journey, in which I learned a lot. I finally created a program which calculated the exact positions of the Sun, the Moon and its phase, the stars and the planets at any given moment in time whether past, future, day or night. I was able to capture the sky as it was or will be at that precise moment, over that special place, even showing the individual constellations —and make it into something beautiful.

We all have those special moments in our lives that we want to remember forever and that’s how GreaterSkies was born.

It started creating maps for friends. It was great and incredibly encouraging to see how much they loved them, how the maps were touching my friends' lives. And here we are now, a small but enthusiastic team, ready to help you to capture that special moment and keep those stars shining forever.
