About

Fun, playful collage art that offers a fresh, exciting perspective on life's simple pleasures

Inspired by a passion for food and nature, I create each collage meticulously by hand in a rich, maximalist style. Every artwork is developed over several weeks in a jigsaw puzzle style, with hundreds of paper shapes precisely cut and placed, piece by piece. With the aim to generate a fresh, exciting perspective on things we often overlook, I use a combination of diverse textures, bold colours, and lively patterns to create art that is a feast for the eyes.

In today’s world, our lives are constantly in the fast lane with many things vying for our attention; Creating my work by hand helps me to slow down and rediscover the simple pleasures of life and the joy they bring.

It all started with an itch to create after the realisation that so much of my time was spent passively absorbing life through various sized screens; Working on a computer all day, watching TV after work, and then scrolling through social media before bed had become the standard. The burning desire I felt to create instead of consume could no longer be ignored.

After this epiphany and rediscovering fashion textile prints created at university, I started experimenting with a couple of different mediums in my spare time and developed a passion for collage. My creative journey was just beginning when the Coronavirus pandemic was beginning to unfold. The UK went into lockdown and shortly after, I was furloughed from my job. I suddenly had a lot of time on my hands, and I used this rare opportunity to spend all my time collaging. Creating art awakened something within me – a much-needed zest for life and sense of fulfilment that had been sorely missed. So when I discovered redundancy was on the horizon a few months later, I decided to fulfil my lifelong dream of starting my own creative business and launched in February 2021.
