Made from native Pembrokeshire oak.
Uniquely, the table has two surfaces - and this reflects its historical context. Traditionally, in Welsh farmhouses, the one table served two purposes - the natural oak surface being for everyday use, whilst the other side - was used for high days and holidays - and was painted white.
Blodwen's design follows this tradition with one surface sand blasted to expose the natural grain, then finished with a protective layer of clear matt lacquer, and the flip side is gleaming satin white - a contemporary take on this classic Welsh piece .
the Blodwen table is joined using traditional mortise and tenon joints that are pegged together with oak dowels. or Further information please contact us for further details. The base of the trestle slots together and is held in place with sandblasted stainless steel brackets and bolts. The corner of the legs has a hand carved stop chamfer commonly found in traditional Welsh farmhouse furniture.
