Atypical Mum

Hi my name is Lisa (or Atypical Mum). I love to create beautiful bespoke lampshades. I also make a variety of prints and handmade gifts.

I live in a small village in Nottingham, England with my Fiancé and two daughters.

I’ve always had a creative side to me, and having my own small business has been a dream for as long as I can remember. As someone with a passion for unique and bespoke art and design I decided to find a creative outlet for myself.

After experimenting with different creative hobbies I stumbled upon lampshade making and instantly fell in love with it.

I practiced, spending time honing my skills and designs, and shared them with friends on social media. I got an overwhelmingly positive reception and decided to take the plunge and create Atypical Mum.

Now a year later I sell a variety of bespoke handmade lampshades and lanterns using the most gorgeous fabrics available.

I make every item by hand using the highest quality materials and constantly seek new fabrics that I love and that I hope my customers will too.
