Well Oiled is all about fabulous food and Italian Extra Virgin Olive Oil. New for the 2011 Barbecue season is our range of Spice Rubs, blended with love and care at home in our Wensleydale kitchen. Spice rubs are an excellent way to add flavour to any meat. Simply mix a desert spoon of rub with a desert spoon of our lovely Classico Extra Virgin Olive Oil, and spread onto meat before barbecuing, grilling, pan frying or even roasting. For a marinade, mix equal quantities of rub and Classico, then add a little water, wine or (with "Scotty's Special Rub"), a little Jack Daniels.
The Extra Virgin Olive Oil offered here is "Classico", an Italian oil with a mild, almost buttery flavour, a quality oil that will not overpower your rub.
Please choose from one of four varieties of rub:
Moroccan Harissa Rub - a fabulous blend of paprika, coriander, cumin, carraway seeds, garlic and mint. The base for an authentic Harissa Paste, lovely on the barbecue, but also works well as the basis for a heart Tagine, or any North African cuisine.
Spicy Masala Rub - the classic Indian blend; Cardamoms, Cloves, Coriander, Cumin, and a little Chilli to give a kick. Use as a marinade for Indian kebabs on the barbecue.
Scotty's Special Rub - the inspiration for the range! Am authentic recipe from the Southern States of the Good Ole US of A!!! A mildly spicy paprika and salt blend, with a hint of plenty more too! Our favourite is Pulled Pork (recipe supplied), cooked long and very slow, but a great all purpose seasoning; works well on Roast Chicken too!
Rosemary Rub - a gentle blend of Rosemary, Garlic, salt and pepper. Wonderful on Roast Lamb, but also lovely on Burgers!
Beautifully presented in clear glass screw top bottles and jars, hand finished with a homespun gingham "hat", and tied with natural jute. Bottles measure 24cm high and contain 250mls Classico Extra Virgin Olive Oil, jars are hexagagonal, and measure 6 cm high with a 4cm diameter. All products are supplied bubble wrapped, but can also be gift wrapped in green tissue paper at no extra cost.
