Made in Britain
A magnificent limited edition of just 10 photogravure prints by Clint Eley of the iconic GIBSON ES semi-acoustic guitar (1964).
The Gibson ES (electric spanish) guitar has been played by a wide range of blues, jazz and rock musicians since it was introduced in 1958, noteably BB King and his trademark guitar known as 'Lucille'. Other well known users of the ES are Noel Gallagher, Larry Carlton, Eric Clapton and Chuck Berry.
A spectacular gift for the rock god or goddess in your life. This dramatic and moody monochrome image has a lovely warm tone and would add a major talking point to any room.
This photogravure print (also know as intaglio from the Italian, 'intagliare' to engrave) is handcrafted in the UK using traditional printing processes and materials. The etched printing plate is inked and the image transferred to the surface of the paper by a hand turned printing press which gives each print a distinctive plate mark (see detail picture). As the plate is inked by hand for every print that is pulled from the press, each print in the edition is slightly different and therefore unique.
The edition is limited to only 10 prints + 2 artist's proofs. Signed, bottom right and numbered 1/10 through to 10/10 (artist's proofs signed but un-numbered)
Each prints comes with a certificate of authenticity. Provenance: Artist
Printed using traditional archival pigment printing inks onto Somerset Velvet 100% cotton, acid free paper.
The image size is 15½" x 19¾" (395mm x 500mm) printed onto paper measuring 22½"x 29.¾" (570mm x 755mm) and supplied unframed. Because the paper has an un-trimmed 'deckle' edge and the intaglio is a handmade process the measurements may vary slightly from those given here.
Each print is wrapped in acid free tissue paper and sent out rolled in a sturdy tube.
