Louis Fabre Merlot - This 2010 is bursting with youthful, vibrant fruit. Classic soft, smooth plummy Merlot showing a nice deep colour and enough grip to go well with a meal as well as being great on its own.
El Huique Cabernet Sauvignon - Deep, pure fruit in this unoaked Chilean red. Deep, concentrated colour and all the cassis fruit that goes with it.
Negro Amaro Italian Red - Recommended in The Guardian and The Daily Telegraph. 100% Negro Amaro grapes, 45 year-old vines grown in the 'heel' of Italy and producing this rich, smooth and fruity red which will make your Spag Bol go down a treat! Not bad with a Pizza Quattro Stagione, either.
Ventisquero Merlot Clasico - Ventisquero wines shine at all levels. This Merlot has all the attributes you want; soft easy fruit, deep colour, very drinkable and more-ish.
La Linea French Red - This is a rich, smooth and fruity little number just oozing with the characteristic berry flavours of top quality Roussillon.
Ventisquero Shiraz - This Shiraz is deeply coloured, deeply fruity and soft and easy to drink.
Louis Fabre Sauvignon Blanc - One of the best times of the wine year is when the first shipment of new vintage young, fresh, crisp Sauvignon Blancs comes in. That was also the pleasure of the previous vintage of this wine ten months ago, showing how well it can mature and has got a hint of minerality, bordering on Poor Man's Sancerre! This will go exactly the same way.
El Huique Chardonnay - Recommended in The Sunday Express: “A delicious, lightly-oaked Chardonnay, this is full bodied with ripe, tropical-fruit flavours. A wine that punches above it's weight”. We are the first to ship the wonderful wines from El Huique (pronounced "Weekeh") into the UK. Chill it right down and this is superb! Bursting with tropical fruit and hints of minerality, this Chardonnay is an almost perfect balance of new world fruit and French terroir. You know you are drinking something with character, but it's not too demanding.
Louis Fabre Viognier - Recommended in The Guardian: "Here's a delicious wine for the summer, a viognier that's fresh, succulent and moreish, subtly floral - no faceful of honeysuckle here - and tastes of ripe white peaches and juicy pears." - classic Viognier! The perfume is light and floral but the palate is more solid and not too oily. Another fine varietal example from Louis Fabre. Could be a wine to try if you don't like Chardonnay and want to try something different.
Ventisquero Sauvignon Blanc Clasico - A little restrained and minerally, but still packs a slug of tropical Sauvignon Blanc fruit. Crisp and fresh.
Dao Portuguese White - So, always wanted a white blend made from Encruzado & Cercial? Come on, you know it's been a burning desire for years! Well here's your chance. It's a dry, crisp, fruity wine ideal for summer BBQs, picnics, or just on its own. It demonstrates just how (dare I say surprisingly?) good whites can now be from Portugal.
Dessert Wine - Muscat de Rivesaltes 50 cls bottle - Recommended in the Sunday Express: "sweet, fruity, delicious." The first wine we took (Les Hauts de Força) from this wonderful Domain just outside Pérpignan was immediately awarded 4 Stars in Decanter Magazine and recommended by Jancis Robinson M.W. in B.A.’s in-flight business magazine and in The Sunday Times Christmas 2008. We knew we would have to bring over more of their super wines. This luscious 15% dessert wine is a classic from the region and if you want to leap on the bandwagon of offering a glass of dessert wine to finish off a dinner party you can find no better place to leap than here.
