Pretty drop earrings made out of blue and white patterned pottery shards that were found on the banks of the Thames in London.
One of a kind - each piece of pottery was cleaned, shaped and set into specially made sterling silver frames. These leaf theme patterns were carefully selected to show off the beautiful variations, and are probably Victorian and Edwardian. The ear wires are hand made in sterling silver.
These dangle earrings are light and comfortable to wear.
There will only ever be one pair of earrings exacltly like this, and you or your loved one will be wearing a little piece of history!
The pottery shards in these earrings were found while 'mudlarking' on the banks of the Thames in London. Each piece of pottery is unique, with a story to tell.
Many of the pieces have been rolling around the river bed for at least 100-200 years. Some are even older. I will give the approximate date where possible.
I select the shards carefully, but please note that because of their age, some of the pieces have surface imperfections. I believe this is part of their charm!
All the metalwork is fine (pure) and sterling silver.
Length - approx. 6 cm including the ear wire, 4.4 cm without ear wire
