Unique pendant featuring a pottery shard that was found on the banks of the Thames in London, set in silver with a silver chain
This shard was such a pretty shape, that apart from a thorough cleaning, it is pretty much exactly how I found it. I have made a custom setting for it in fine and sterling silver, and it hangs off a diamond cut sterling silver chain.
The clasp is part of the design - you wrap it round your neck and thread the toggle underneath the loop to close it. The weight of the pendant keeps it secure.
A simple but elegant design!
There will only ever be one pendant like this, and you or your loved one will be wearing a little piece of history!
The pottery shard was found while 'mudlarking' on the banks of the Thames in London. Each piece of pottery is unique, with a story to tell.
Many of the pieces have been rolling around the river bed for at least 100-200 years. Some are even older. I will give the approximate date where possible.
I select the shards carefully, but please note that because of their age, some of the pieces have surface imperfections. I believe this is part of their charm!
All the metalwork is fine (pure) and sterling silver.
The pottery piece is approx. 2.8 cm tall , 2 cm wide.
The chain is 46 cm (18 inches) long - if you would like a longer or shorter chain please contact me so I can change it for you.
