Stephanie Earl
Since graduating I have evolved a love of working in porcelain, glass and textiles. I continue to be fascinated by translating the fragile textures of lace and crochet into the much more durable materials of porcelain and glass.
I was initially inspired by a length of beautiful Victorian mourning lace that was beginning to fall apart. The challenge of preserving it formed the very beginning of my current collection which captures the intricacy and fragility of antique and contemporary stitch in porcelain and kiln fired glass, providing a coherent range of jewellery, giftware and embellishments.
Each piece is completely unique after hand casting and finishing and intended as contemporary wares with a vintage feel and I hope that you get as much enjoyment out of owning them as I do out of designing and creating them.
For a personal touch, a treasured lace pattern from a wedding or christening dress can be cast into porcelain or glass to create a unique gift idea.
