This striking one-off sideboard creates a new use for a lovely 1950s school wall map.

A fusion of vintage and contemporary: a nostalgic linen-backed British made (Philips) map of Europe, dated 1951, mounted in sections onto a birch plywood construction and lacquered, the remaining birch surfaces are finished with teak oil. The legs, painted very dark grey and lightly scuffed, are from a vintage Queen Anne style chair, the chrome D handles are contemporary.
