Studio 54: 1970s jumpsuit by Silk & Sawdust
Beginning life as a polyester jumpsuit found at a North London market stall, with a fantastic shape in not-so-fantastic fabric, Studio 54 comes in crisp linen, with soft flowers and a gently flared leg to give a strong yet feminine feel. Altogether more classy!
Details: Linen. Cool hand or machine wash.
A little history: some people are a little nervous about the jumpsuit, but we say ‘what’s not to love?’. First conceived for parachutists as a lightweight version of the boiler suit, later worn by land girls and female munitions workers during the Second-World War… it’s not the burnt bra, it’s the jumpsuit that should be held up as the uniform of sexual revolution!
