This collection draws inspiration from the celebrated banyan tree or Indian fig tree. It is commonly referred to by the people of India as the tree of life. It is a symbol of fertility and enlightenment. Block print design in natural shades and antique phulkari style embroidery tells the intricate story.
The collection comprises:
A double sided quilt made of embroidered linen on the front and printed cotton in a matching design on the reverse. Hand quilted. The linen is adorned with pulkhari style embroidery in the design of the tree of life. The quilt border is also embroidered and delicately enhanced with hand beading. Quilt inners are cotton. Size: 265 cm x 265 cm.
Two large linen cushion covers with an embroidered and hand beaded border. Size: 60 cm x 60 cm.
Two printed cotton cushion covers with hand beading. Size: 40 cm x 40 cm.
One rectangular linen cushion cover with embroidery and printed cotton oxford flap. Size: 38 cm x 52 cm.
All cushion covers close with mother of pearl buttons. Each piece in the collection is luxuriously finished with a sterling silver label.
