Hand-knitted, fabulous cardigan with dramatic cable back and romantic waterfall front panels; made from 100% pure alpaca which complements ivory and eggshell fabrics beautifully
The Purl Alpaca Designs' products are exclusive, design-led and upmarket. Many people have commented on the luxurious texture of our yarn and the exquisitely soft garments it makes. Comparable to top grade cashmere, Beauty is incredibly warm to wear but weighs little.
Our fleece is sourced from local breeders; it is hand sorted and graded before being made into yarn by a specialist spinning mill. Only the best quality is used and we blend the natural fibres to create our wonderful colour range. We don’t dye the yarn. Environmentally aware; even our packaging is made from recycled materials.
Beauty is a lovely, cardigan with lots of interesting stitches and details, including horizontal and vertical knitting, blackberry stitch, seed stitch, rib and a dramatic puff sleeve. This cardigan works well with most wedding dresses, but especially compliments shorter dresses.
Beauty cardigan is knitted in Purl Alpaca Fine and is photographed in Autumn Light. This natural and undyed shade of cream works really well with shades of ivory and eggshell.
One of our highly experienced and professional knitters will put all their skill and lots of love into making this a very special piece for you. X-Small: UK sizes 4-6, to fit 72cm/30" bust
Small: UK sizes 8-10, to fit 80cm/34" bust
Medium: UK sizes 12-14, to fit 90cm/37" bust
Large: UK sizes 16-18, to fit 98cm/40" bust
X-Large: UK size 20, to fit 105cm/43" bust
Included with the Beauty Cardigan is the biography/image of Beauty (the alpaca the design is named after) and Care Instructions, so your garment lasts for years. It will be packed in a natural cotton shopping bag, then a plastic resealable bag (which you keep for garment storage).
Made from:
Purl Alpaca Designs' 100% pure alpaca yarn is not dyed, all the colours are completely natural and the fibre is sourced from local breeders. It is spun in England by a specialist spinning mill.
Once returned as yarn, Kari-Helene Rane knits swatch samples of different stitches which in turn, inspire her to create a design which complements both the natural drape and lustre of the yarn, plus the intricacies of the stitch. With both tailoring and knitting as her specialist subjects, Kari-Helene’s designs make truly statement pieces.
The names for Purl Alpaca Designs are chosen from cria (baby alpacas) born to our own herd and alpacas at Houghton Hall Alpacas in Cambridgeshire. The fleece from this award winning herd makes our yarn.
Once made, we recommend hand-washing as the best way to ensure Allegro keeps shape and lasts for years. We do however provide Care Instructions which gives extra tips on how to look after your Purl Alpaca Design.
Dimensions:
Packed in a blue mail bag (40cm x 28cm), the weight will depend on the size ordered as this has an incremental effect. Final posting weight ranges between 350g and 500g.
