This chicken coop is designed and beautifully hand-crafted in England to spaciously house up to six large chickens.
We want to make keeping chickens as easy as possible. To achieve this, the coop has been designed to be very easy to use. Every last detail has been considered, from how the the eggs are collected in the mornings, to how the recycled plastic perches are removed for cleaning. The design of this coop has even gained recognition in an international design competition!

The chicken coop floor and perches are made from 100% recycled plastic, this is a very easy to clean, hard wearing and hygienic material. Unlike wood it will not absorb moisture and smells, and mites cannot live inside it either. This makes your life easier, and keeps your hens happier!
To change the bedding, simply open the rear door, lift out the nesting box divider, and then slide out the whole floor. For a more thorough clean, the roof easily lifts off and the perches can be lifted out. A mite infestation is every chicken keepers worst nightmare, but with a combination of these features, the use of plywood and a painted interior, it is not something you will have to worry about.
The two nesting compartments are located at the back of the chicken coop, simply open the rear egg collection door at the back to collect the fresh eggs.
The chicken coop is well ventilated whilst being free from draughts. The heart shaped holes provide plenty of ventilation, there is also a board behind them to prevent a draught going through the coop.
The chicken coop is painted in two coats of quality paints from Cuprinol™. The roof is painted in cream to reflect sun light, this helps to keep the chicken coop at the right temperature. The legs are stained for ease of cleaning and longevity.
All timber has a planed finish and is tanalised, ensuring that it lasts for many years. The plywood is exterior grade, and the roof is marine grade plywood, giving great resistance to warping and moisture.
Each chicken coop uses 8kg of recycled plastic, which comes from British waste and is processed in England. The plastic is recycled from the commonly used and discarded carrier bag. 8kg is equivalent to over a thousand carrier bags!
The decorative barge board shown in the first picture mounts onto the front of the roof, it is painted to match the roof. This is an optional extra, and it is not compatible with our chicken runs.

The chicken coop will arrive flat packed with a full set of instructions. No tools are required and it takes around 15 minutes to assemble, an assembly video can also be provided on request.
