This board started its life as a tree grown at Llanarth Court near Raglan in the county of Monmouthshire. Less than thirty miles away the timber was handcrafted into this beautiful board.
In the workshop this highly decorative timber is tranformed into a classic board. Firstly the timber is planed to take off the rough edges and then is hand cut to shape. The edges are shaped to give the characteristic finish. The board is now ready to be hand sanded to a smooth finish. Finally the board is finished with oil to bring out the colour and character of the wood and to seal the surface.
The colours and figure make this a truly special wood. The design is simple to show the unique qualities of this piece of cherry wood. As the board ages the colour will deepen and become richer and more decorative.
Note: Your board has been handmade from an individual piece of wood and so will be slightly different from the picture shown as each board is, quite simply, unique.
