Our handmade hearts are carved into a single solid block of Welsh oak.
Each size is handmade in small batches and the natural differences in the material mean every one is unique.
Small 5cm x 5cm
Medium 9cm x 9cm
Made from sustainable Welsh oak - in this case managed forestry trees felled so that others may continue to grow and mature.
The natural oil finish means that each will acquire a patina with age, is tactile and will, over time, subtly reflect the way it is handled by its owner.
The boxes are made from recycled materials and are available in red, purple and black.
The Celtic word Duir, for oak tree, is the origin of both Druid (who practised their religion in ancient oak groves, revering the age of the trees) and of door, a threshold to another place.
